Why is it best to have my child in weekly lessons?

Research shows that year-round swimmers learn faster, retain skills longer, and build lasting confidence in the water. Consistency is key — regular practice keeps skills sharp and prevents regression, especially in younger swimmers. Weekly lessons also help children build a strong relationship with their instructor and feel comfortable in the pool environment.

Will swimmers receive recognition when they advance levels?

Yes! Swimmers earn a medal or trophy each time they advance to a new level in our curriculum. This recognition celebrates their hard work and motivates them to keep progressing. Our leveled system — from Diaper Dippers through the Krab, Dolphin, Gator, and Shark series — gives swimmers clear goals to work toward.

Will my child have the same instructor?

We try to keep swimmers with the same instructor for consistency, as familiar relationships help children feel safe and progress faster. However, it is not always guaranteed due to scheduling and staffing. If you have a preference, you can request a specific instructor and we will do our best to accommodate.

Do you offer summer camps or clinics?

Yes! Summer Swim Camps run 3 hours per day for 5 consecutive days with no prerequisites — perfect for beginners or swimmers who want intensive practice. Swim Clinics are 30 minutes per day for 5 days, offering a focused skill-building experience. Both programs are available May through August. Check our Summer Programs page for dates and registration.

Can I switch weeks for summer programs?

Contact us as soon as possible and we will try our best to accommodate schedule changes for summer camps and clinics. Availability depends on enrollment in the week you want to switch to, so the earlier you reach out, the better your chances.

Are there refunds for missed camp or clinic days?

No, we do not offer refunds for missed camp or clinic days. However, if spots open up in other weeks, we will do our best to offer makeup opportunities. We recommend planning your summer schedule around the camp dates when you register.

How do endless swim lessons work?

Our year-round enrollment model means your swimmer stays enrolled continuously. Lessons are available for swimmers ages 5 months and up, and enrollment continues until you submit a withdrawal form on the 1st of your final month. This model ensures consistent progress without gaps in learning — your child picks up right where they left off each week.

Why do you use songs and toys during lessons?

Our curriculum uses positive reinforcement through play because it works. Songs, toys, and games increase engagement and help children retain swimming skills faster. Young swimmers especially respond well to playful instruction — it reduces anxiety, builds positive associations with the water, and makes the learning process feel natural rather than intimidating.

Is safety taught in every class?

Absolutely. Safety is our top priority and is woven into every level of our curriculum. From backfloating and self-rescue skills in our infant classes to competitive safety rules in advanced levels, water safety is never treated as an afterthought. Every swimmer, regardless of skill level, practices safety fundamentals in every session.

What makes Swimsational different from other swim schools?

We are the only year-round, indoor, heated swim school in Southwest Louisiana. Our pool stays at a comfortable 90°F every day of the year, so lessons never get cancelled for weather or cold temperatures. Our proprietary curriculum provides a clear progression path from infant water safety all the way to competitive swimming with our Shockwaves team — all under one roof. No other local program offers this complete aquatic journey.

What should my child bring to lessons?

A swimsuit, towel, and goggles (optional but recommended for older swimmers). We provide everything else needed for the lesson. Our pool is heated to 90°F, so swimmers stay comfortable throughout their session. For infants and toddlers, we recommend swim diapers.

Do you offer lessons for adults?

Yes! Our private lessons are available for all ages, including adults who want to learn to swim or improve their technique. Whether you never learned to swim, want to get more comfortable in the water, or are training for a triathlon, our instructors can tailor lessons to your goals. It is never too late to learn.
