Infant Swim Classes

The earlier your child starts, the safer they'll be around water. Our infant program introduces babies as young as 5 months to the pool in a warm, nurturing environment where parents are right there in the water — building trust, safety skills, and a love of swimming that lasts a lifetime.

Why Start Swim Lessons Early?

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1 to 4. Starting water safety education during infancy builds muscle memory and instinctive reactions that could save your child's life. Babies who learn to swim early develop stronger water confidence, better coordination, and a natural comfort in the pool that carries through every stage of their swimming journey.

Our infant classes aren't about turning your baby into a competitive swimmer — they're about giving your child the foundation of water safety while having fun together. Every class combines play-based learning with essential survival skills.

Our Infant Program Levels

Two progressive levels guide your little one from their very first splash to independent water safety skills.

Foundation

Diaper Dippers

Ages 5–36 months

Your baby's first introduction to the water. In this parent-child class, you'll be in the pool alongside your little one as they explore the water through songs, toys, and gentle guided movements. These classes build the comfort and trust that all future water skills are built on.

Skills Covered

  • Water exploration and comfort
  • Wall location and awareness
  • Climb-out safety skills
  • Arm and leg motion basics
  • Balance and body positioning
  • Supported floating (front and back)
  • Early breath control
  • Parent-child bonding in the water
Advanced Infant

Dippin' Tots

Ages 20–36 months

The final level of our infant series. Your toddler has built comfort and basic skills — now they'll develop the self-rescue abilities that every parent wants their child to have. These classes bridge the gap between infant exploration and independent group lessons.

Skills Covered

  • Self-rescue techniques
  • Wall returns and independent climb-outs
  • Minimal-assisted back floating
  • Breath control up to 15 seconds
  • Swim-roll-rest-swim sequence
  • Independent arm and leg coordination

  • Readiness assessment for group lessons

Parent Participation Required

A parent or guardian must be in the water with your child during all infant classes. This strengthens the bond between you and your baby while they learn essential water safety skills.
